JUDITH ABEL, Piano.BA, St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota; Master of Music degree, University of Michigan. Private piano and singing teacher for 33 years. Her students have won honors and scholarships in the National Federation of Music Clubs Festivals and at Interlochen Music Camp. Currently she is choir director and organist at Hawthorne Reformed Church in Hawthorne, N.Y., and general music teacher at the Karafin School in Mt. Kisco. She frequently gives song and piano programs in area adult homes, churches and clubs. She is a member of Music Educators National Conference.
CHRIS AMELAR, Guitar. Graduated magna cum laude from William Paterson Universidy with honors in music and jazz performance. He is the author of more than twelve guitar instruction books and videos and a contributing writer for Guitar World magazine. He has performed with dignitaries including former president Bill Clinton, Rudolf Guilliani, Jesse Jackson, and George Pataki. He is an accomplished player in jazz, rock, country, classical and other popular styles and can be seen performing around the NYC metropolitan area in a wide range of different ensembles. Chris has been a busy guitar instructor for over 15 years, and has conducted classes at the National Guitar Workshop and guitar clinics around the world. Music instructional materials written by Chris Amelar include: Mastering Contemporary Rock, Jamin' Series (6 books/3 videos), The Guitar FX Cookbook (book and video), Essential Licks and Techniques, and Blues Licks for guitar.
DAVID BARNHART, Cello. M.M., Kent State University; B.A., in Music, Franklin Pierce College. Participant in the Taos International Music Festival. Former cello teacher in the Bedford Central School District, 1994-1996. Extensive performing and recording experience with various New York City bands and artists.
DELPHINE BROWNLEE, Voice. Vocal studies with Carmine Gagliardi and Ruth Pinkerton, and at the Manhattan School of Music's Opera Theater. Graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse. Performed in summer stock, off-Broadway, and the Broadway hits Unsinkable Molly Brown; Carnival; Here's Love; Fade-Out, Fade-In; and the original cast of Man of La Mancha. Recital debut at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall. Appeared in Singer's Theater productions of Cavalleria Rusticana, Gianni Schicchi, The Medium, and Trouble in Tahiti. Most recently sang Dido's Lament with Philharmonia Virtuosi at SUNY Purchase. Taught at Montclair State College and Hackley School. Member NY Singing Teachers Association and NYSMTA.
TOMAS CATALDO, Guitar. BM, Berklee College of Music in Boston. He studied with John Patruccia (Dream Theatre), Jim Kelly (Berklee professor), and Wayne Krantz (Steely Dan), and Jerry Willard (classical guitar). He is a faculty member of the National Guitar Workshop and also teaches in the music department of Fordam University. He is the author of "The Rock Licks Encyclopedia" published by Alfred and is endorsed by Brian Moore Guitars as well as GHS strings. Mr. Cataldo is an active recording session guitarist doing many commercials, including Ford, Suzuki, Mazda, Dodge, Downy, Keds, etc. He plays and teaches in New York and New Jersey.
JUSTIN CAWLEY, Double Bass, Electric Bass, Guitar. Bachelor of Studio Music & Jazz, University of Miami School of Music. He studied with Jeff Andrews (Manhattan School of Music), Don Coffman, Matt Bonnelli, Chuck Bergeron (University of Miami), Ron Miller, Vince Maggio, Gary Keller & Randall Dallohon (University of Miami). He is currently active teaching and performing in the New York Metro area. Performances include appearances at: MacMenamin’s Grill (New Rochelle), Makor (NYC) and Joe’s Pub (NYC), just to name a few.
LANE CHAZDON, Guitar. Holds an MME and BA in music therapy, as well as a BA in psychology. He has 25 years of guitar teaching experience and 20 years of full-time music therapy experience. Details furnished on request.

KAREN FROEHLICH, Horn. BME, Illinois Wesleyan University; MM, Yale University. She has performed with numerous orchestras including Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Westchester Philharmonic, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Chappaqua Chamber Orchestra, White Plains Pops Band, Westchester Band, Newburgh Symphony, and the Westchester Broadway Dinner Theater. She is a member ot the Soundview Brass Quartet, and has been on the faculty of many music schools including Vassar College, Pace University, The Masters School and Hoff-Barthelson Music School. She played in the Broadway musicals Most Happy Fella, 42nd Street, West Side Story, and Cats. Currently Instrumental/General Music teacher at Louis M. Klein Middle School in Harrison, NY.
PHIL GABERMAN, Piano (popular, jazz, blues, ragtime, Broadway show tunes, chord method for easy accompaniment), Popular vocal coaching. MS Clinical Psychology, Wayne State University, Detroit. Six years featured jazz pianist at Momo's Listening Room, Detroit. Musical director, vocal director, conductor, pianist at Harnick-Adams Children Theater. World tours. Assistant musical director, The Soupy Sales Show, playing for Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, etc. Musical director/pianist for the Vanguard Playhouse - over 20 shows. Contributing editor, Sheet Music Magazine. Phil has taught fun piano for twenty-five years at the Mount Kisco School of Music.
CLAUDINE HALKO, Violin, Viola & Piano
DOUGLAS HARTLINE, Guitar. BA, Ashland University. Studied with Sal Salvadore, Gene Bertoncini and Linc Chamberland. He has played professionally and taught guitar for over twenty years. He has taught at the Canterbury School, Trinity Pawling School and South Kent. He has released two jazz CD's under his own name and label and has just released his third, A Gentle Presence.
DOMINIQUE HELLSTEN, Piano and Voice. MA, Gothenburg Academy of Music, Sweden. Head of Music at Ugglum School, singing teacher at Falkenberg Gymnasium, and a principal singer in Gothenberg's Baroque Opera Group in Sweden. In England Ms. Hellsten was a private piano and voice teacher, gave a Masterclass at Southampton University, and appeared in many recitals and concerts singing in Russian, Spanish, Scandinavian, English and French.
LISA JOHNSON, Flute & Piccolo. BM, North Carolina School of the Arts; MM, Manhattan School of Music. Her teachers and coaches are Harold Bennett, Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser, Carol Wincenc, Ransom Wilson, Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway. Among the orchestras she has played with are the Little Opera Society Orchestra, Manhattan Opera Association Orchestra, Bayreuth Youth Fesitval (Germany). She has appeared in Symphony Space, International House, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, CAMI Hall, numerous churches in New York, New Jersey and North Carolina, and on many Queen Elizabeth II cruises to Africa, the Mediterranean, England, Mexico, Norway, Iceland, Hawaii and Bermuda. She has also performed in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. She has recorded A Tribute to Otto Luening on the CRI label. Ms. Johnson was a 1993 prize winner of the Artist International Competition in NYC and gave her debut concert at Carnegie Hall's Weil Recital Hall during the 1993-4 season. Ms. Johnson is the director of the Mount Kisco School of Music's Flute Ensemble.

DAVID MARKOWITZ, Flute & Piccolo. M.M. Yale University School of Music. B.A. Oberlin College, Music Theory and History. Graduate studies with Ransom Wilson. Teaching experience includes positions at various CT and Westchester music schools. His book Tetrachords for Jazz is distributed by Charles Colin Publications. Recent concertizing includes Latin jazz.

Studies with Earl Bates, Bernard Portnoy, Raymond Grignet, William McColl. Assistant Principal/Bass Clarinet, Philharmonic Orchestra, Indiana University; Solo Clarinet, City of Elkhart (IN) Municipal Band; Assistant Instructor of Woodwinds, Goshen College, Goshen, IN; Performances with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra.
JOHN RYERSON, Piano, Trumpet. Studied at Wesleyan University and New England Conservatory of Music. He has been Resident musician/composer at The Pied Piper Children's Theater in Gloucester, MA, and Musical Director for the Swampscott, MA, JCC summer camp. Mr. Ryerson wrote the book, music and lyrics to the musical "Piper's Song" produced at the Gene Frankel Theatre, NYC. He plays in clubs and restaurants in the New York City area and has been teaching piano, trumpet and voice for ten years.
GARY SCHWARTZ, Drums. Began studies at age 9; studied with Nick Mangini at the Westchester Conservatory of Music. He has been on the faculty of the Mount Kisco School of Music since 1987. Very active professionally with the popular band The Blue Rays.
MIKE SEVERINO, Drums. Studies with Sam Ulano, Ken Dalluge, Eli Fontaine, and Nick Mangini. Former drum instructor at Eastchester High School, and The Dutchess Day School. Played with Levon Helm's blues band, Ari-Up, and in various musical theater productions.
BILL SNEDDON, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Oboe. Music Education degree, Eastern Michigan; Master degree, University of Michigan. He plays on Broadway and in several orchestras, and recorded solos on the Harvey Keitel movie City of Industry. Also teaches at the Ethical Culture Center in Manhattan.
RENEE ST. AMAND, Violin/Viola. BM, Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. Studied with Laurie Smukler, Joey Corpus, Betty-Jean Hagen. Orchestral, chamber music and solo experience, and teaching privately since 1998. Winner of the West Point Military Academy Band Concerto Competition; and Hudson Valley Philharmonic Concerto Competiition.
ROBERT STATTEL, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Baritone Horn, French Horn. BA, University of Maryland; MM, University of Michigan; Studies at Lehman College. Member, New York Big Band, Lehman College Community Band, Monarch Brass Quintet.
TERRY SYREK, Guitar. BM, Berklee College of Music, Boston; guitar studies at Duquesne University. Guitar studies with Bill Purse, Georoge Rau, and Tony Janiflone. Faculty member, National Guitar Workshop. Mr. Syrek has performed and recorded with various artists in Boston and New York City. He has been teaching since 1985.
DAN TABER, Guitar. B.A., SUNY Purchase College. Studied with John Sanborn, Jim McElwaine. Music specialist in children's day camp. Ten years experience teaching guitar privately, and composing, transcribing and arranging for bands. Plays guitar professionally in various bands.
AMANDA WESNER, Piano. A.B., magna cum laude, Music and English, Mount Holyoke College; A.M. and Ph.D. Music, Harvard University. Head Teaching Fellow at Harvard University; Teaching Assistant and Tutor, Mount Holyoke College. Former Resident Music Tutor, Kirkland House. Ms. Wesner has taught piano for many years, and also music history and appreciation at both Harvard University and North Texas State.
